I am glad at last that the Australian Government has formally and completely apologised for it’s mistreatment of the indigenous population of this country. What it did to eradicate the alternative genetic strain of our heritage was nothing less than an ethnic cleansing, an attempt at least conducted between the 30’s and 70’s of the last century to dominate the country and enforce the anglo-saxon way.
I am glad it was a failure and that all these years later we are being held accountable for our actions, to say Sorry and to acknowledge what has been done.
I enjoyed seeing the country at an early age, venturing into central Australia and experiencing this alternative culture while I was young opened my eyes to the world at large, the vast differences in people that are among us and that deserve to be here. We are all visitors to this land, the land of this planet and the greater acceptance of people on a level playing field (albeit a ball in space) needs to be seen by each and every one of us.
So we say sorry, we apologise for the actions of our forefathers, the controlling and dominating forces elected as our representatives in the times past and we all should take this as a lesson that our actions may impact others forever more.
With reduced worry, but with no less humility I also say sorry for not posting things to my blog for a while. I got this site all started with good intentions and expected to have things to say almost on a daily basis. That’s not wrong, but I didn’t foresee all the time it would take to achieve. So for that reason alone, it’s not happening as often as I would like but I working on it and will endeavour to post more regular updates. On the other hand, I am also making a concerted effort to not be a complaining whinger, most of the things people post on blogs, and for that matter, things I want to get off my chest are just complaints anyway so I am avoiding posting that at the moment.
Stay tuned, good things will come of it all…
